A Letter from

The Fund for LCA
Lakewood Catholic Academy
2009-2010
Dear Friends,
I remember the excitement that we felt on July 1, 2005 when
we received the keys to our future!
A new school, that combined the finest traditions of our
three founding schools along with a vision for a new way of
educating students to become inspired, competent, and
Christ-like citizens of the 21st century.
An army of volunteers worked around the clock for two
months as they prepared the campus for the first day of school
and, at the same time, began to build a new community that
became Lakewood Catholic Academy.
Four school years have flown by and we have much to
celebrate. The
students from our first graduating class are now seniors in high
school. Our
beautiful lakefront campus continues to attract students as it
has since the Sisters of Charity began educating children on
this same site early in the 20th century.
LCA’s dedicated faculty, innovative curriculum and
commitment to forming the hearts and minds of our students to be
true followers of Christ are the hallmarks of this exceptional
Catholic elementary education.
As we mark this significant five year milestone, we must
strive to be even better -
5, 10, 25 years from now - in order to offer this kind of
education to future generations of children.
In the midst of the challenges of reconfiguring the parishes
in our Diocese, Lakewood Catholic Academy stands as a new model
for Catholic elementary schools.
I humbly ask you to consider an investment in Lakewood
Catholic Academy.
Now is the time to secure the future of Catholic elementary
education by supporting The Fund for LCA with your gift.
Your gift impacts every student and every inch of our
campus.
Contributions to The Fund for LCA go to work immediately and
help us to meet the school’s operational costs that are not
covered by tuition.
If you have participated in LCA’s annual appeal in the past,
I thank you and ask you to renew your gift.
If not, I encourage you to consider a gift to The Fund
for LCA and join others who have made an investment in our
school. Whether you
are a past donor or a new donor, I invite you to participate in
our Fifth Birthday Challenge.
Your gift can have an even greater impact through the
generosity of an anonymous donor!
As always, I request your prayers for our students,
faculty, and staff and know that you are in our prayers each and
every day.
Gratefully,

Maureen Arbeznik
Principal
