2011 Cross Country Season, Week One!

The 2011 CYO Cross Country season began Sunday, August 28th with a meet held on the Campus of Hawken School. More than 900 athletes each participated in one of six races. This season the Lakewood Catholic Academy CYO Cross Country Team has 105 athletes and 12 coaches. 25 of our athletes place in the top 25 and 7th - 8th grade teams won 1st place in their division.

Top twenty five finishers where, Intermediate Girls, Bina Frost 5, Maggie Wagner 9, Corrine Baker 21. Intermediate Boys, Luke Wagner 1, Tim Trentel 2, Noah Mason 6, Shawn Gaspar 13, Patrick McGuire 17, Michael Trentel 21, Patrick Nolan 22, Steven O'Sullivan 23. Cadet Girls, Claudia Becker 9, Renee Senft 17, Evie Frost 23. Cadet Boys, Evan Budzar 7, Chris Larsen 21. Elemental Girls, Jane Sessions , Elemental Boys, Tommy Spear 1, Billy Spear 3, Patrick McCallum 6, Jimmy Spear 8, Cory Stofko 9, Joseph Maloney 22. The teams next challenge will be Thursday, September 1st at Edgewater Park.

Cross Country at Lakewood Catholic Academy

The Lakewood Catholic Academy Cross Country is open to all LCA and PSR students in grades one through eight.

Practices

Current physical must be on file before paticipation
Begin the first week of August
Monday through Thursday 1 hr., evenings at Lakewood Park
Grades 1 - 3 (intramural) athletes are expected to attend at least two practices per week
Grades 4 - 8 (CYO) athletes are expected to attend at least three practices per week

Uniforms

A uniform consisting of running shorts and a singlet will be provided for each athlete to use during the season.
Athletes must have a pair of quality running shoes and appropriate warm up clothes
CYO) athletes may use running spikes during events

Events

Consecutive Saturday’s from late August/early September Saturday mornings 8:30 a.m. – 11:45 a.m.
All athletes participate in every event
Intramural, 6 events, CYO 7 events
Intramural athletes run 1 mile
CYO 4 – 6 grade athletes run 1-1/2 miles
CYO 7 – 8 grade athletes run 2 miles
