General Information
Lakewood Catholic Academy Track is open to all LCA and PSR
students in grades four through eight.
Practices
-
Current physical must be on file before
participation
-
Optional conditioning sessions begin in
February
-
CYO regular season practices begin the
second week of March
-
Practices are split by grade, with
4th/5th practicing as a group immediately followed by
6th/7th/8th practicing as a group.
Practice for each group lasts one hour.

Practices are typically held at
Lakewood High track, Monday evenings through Thursday
evenings, with the younger group starting at 5:30pm.
The younger group is expected to participate in at
least 2 practices a week and the older group in at least 3
practices a week.
Uniforms

LCA will provide a uniform for all
athletes.

LCA will take orders at the beginning
of the season for personalized hoodies ($13 each).
These will be the athletes to keep at the end of the
season.

Athletes need to provide their own
running shoes/spikes.
Track Meets
-
The CYO meets run for seven Sunday
afternoons over March, April and May (no meet is run on
Easter Sunday).

The first meet is typically the last
Sunday in March.

The younger group runs from 1pm to
2:30pm and the older group from 3pm to 5pm.

Meet sites rotate between Padua
(Parma), Brecksville and Westlake High.

Athletes are permitted to participate
in up to four events and all LCA athletes are encouraged to
fully participate at the meets.

Track events include: 100m, 200m, 400m,
800m, 1600m and 4x100m relay.

Field events include: shot put, running
jump, standing jump, discus (older group only) and high jump
(older group only).
