WHAT IS THE FUND FOR LCA?   WHY IS IT IMPORTANT?

The Fund for LCA plays an important role in the ongoing financial stability of Lakewood Catholic Academy and is the most important fundraising activity for the school.  The Fund for LCA is a critical piece of the school's yearly operating budget. Currently tuition covers approximately 70% of the required revenue to sustain the school. LCA relies on the Fund for LCA along with auxiliary funds and parish support to bridge that gap.

Gifts to the Fund for LCA are unrestricted and directly benefit the operating budget, which fulfills the daily and essential needs of our students and faculty. The Fund for LCA ensures competitive faculty salaries, tuition assistance, updated curriculum materials, and student enrichment opportunities such as the Outdoor Classroom, the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd Program, two foreign languages and the Extended Curriculum Program.

All gifts to the Fund for LCA remain at the school and go to work immediately to support the students, faculty, campus, and programs.

WHO SUPPORTS THE FUND FOR LCA?

Lakewood Catholic Academy is fortunate to have many constituent groups who support the Fund.  Every member of the school’s Board of Directors contributes to the Fund.  Additionally, all current LCA parents are asked to consider a gift.  Most of the gifts to the Fund come from friends – parents of LCA alumni, grandparents, past LCA Board members, LCA faculty and staff, family foundations, members of the founding parishes of Saint Luke, Saint Clement, Transfiguration, and Saint James, and many others both inside and outside of the Lakewood community. WHAT ARE THE GOALS OF THE 2011-12 FUND FOR LCA?

The monetary goal for the 2011-12 Fund for LCA is $175,000.  Additionally, we hope to increase parent participation once again this year.  Last year, 87 LCA families made a gift to the Fund.  This year, we are working to a goal of 25% participation – 105 families.  A generous anonymous donor has offered a challenge gift of $5,000 if we meet the parent participation goal by June 30, 2012.

We have also set a goal to increase the number of all donors to the Fund for LCA by 10%.

WHY IS PARTICIPATION SO IMPORTANT?

A gift to the Fund for LCA is the most effective and direct way a donor can contribute to LCA.

Participation is so important to our success. Each donor is encouraged to contribute at a level that reflects their commitment to LCA and their ability to give - every gift, no matter the amount, is greatly appreciated and important to our success.

WHAT IS THE DEADLINE FOR THE 2011-2012 FUND FOR LCA?

Gifts must be received by June 30, 2012.  You may make a pledge to the 2011-12 at any time, but payment must be received by June 30.
